Group Training Seminars/Workshops

DBS Training Seminars

DBS Training Seminars are indoor events with a power-point presentation, and Bob Mercier as your host. We teach groups of 20 to 500 people who share a common belief, that deer hunting is fun, thrilling, and rewarding, and that we can never stop learning from deer. We teach Seminars year-round nationwide anywhere that 20 or more people can gather. Topics do vary based on the audience, and the level of DBS deer hunter training they have already received.

Training Seminars typically run 4, 6, or 8 hours. Coffee and water are served and we sometimes include a meal in the ticket price. We take 10-minute breaks every 90-minutes. You and the other attendees will get two copies of Bob Mercier’s Whitetail Deer Herd Territory Map ©2019, a Bob Mercier Trail Stick, and a handout to help you remember the lessons.

DBS Training Workshops

DBS Training Workshops are held outdoors. Usually on public land, or on private property with the landowner present. These are outdoor walks with Bob Mercier leading your group into the Territories of Kings. Bob has taught groups of up to 20 people but could accommodate up to 50 people.

Bob’s Topics are: how deer live, by explaining the meaning of all of the deer sign that you encounter. Bob teaches you how to be a successful D.I.E. Hunter, who knows how to scout for the king, and for an ambush location for your stand. He teaches you how to be invisible to deer, how to walk-like-a-deer and how to refuse to show human behavior in the deer world. Bob helps every one; no one is left behind. Time management is a factor in outdoor walks. It can take up to 4 hours to teach deer behavior basics to people who have not read Bob’s book. Order a D.I.E. Book today by clicking here. Once everyone is up to speed, Bob gives each person a Deer Trail Stick and teaches you how to understand deer trails and deer travel. You’ll learn how to know buck trails from doe trails and how to think like a king. Bob leads you on a journey. One that you take part in. Bob praises God for his ability to see what deer see, hear what deer hear, identify threats, and process signs and situations just as deer do. Bob will teach you to do all this in the time allowed. You will learn, explore, discover, and develop as a better deer hunter on your adventures into the world of Whitetail deer.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is up to the customer. If deer season is on, then DBS recommends you are scent-free and dressed in camouflage from head to toe, including a mask and gloves. We go where deer go, and you do not want to get busted.

Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall, where the weather permits, and temperatures are between 20 degrees and 75 degrees. Exceptions can be made upon request.

WI, IL, MN, MI, OH, IA, IN, KY, MS, MO, PA, AL, AR, TN, TX, OK, NE, and others if we are asked to go there. Check our Calendar to see when we will be in your state. Call us to discuss any questions you may have about private lessons. We are here to help you.

We can scout 10 to 60 acres in an 8 hour day, depending on how much detail our customers want us to teach them.

No, as long as you have gotten written permission from the land owners to allow us to walk their land with you. We require that you either own, rent, or lease the land, and that you can prove it to us if we request proof. We will not trespass or go where guiding is not legal.

Yes, where guiding on public land is legal. No, where guiding is not legal.

Yes you may call us, but respectfully we will have to assign a fee to the time that you need to discuss your questions. We are not obligated to providing free advice after a private lesson.

No, but we highly recommend that you understand the way deer herds operate, so you can make sense of the actions of the bucks and other deer you are sure to encounter while hunting with the Dominance Is Everything™ Deer Hunting System. Owning and reading the book is recommended but not required.

Yes. If you have only one hour to hunt, you should set up a D.I.E. Scrape. The first deer to see it, if not the king reports it to the king, and he starts hunting you immediately after that.

Eight Minutes. That is all it takes some people to harvest the king of the herd. We advise our clients to think about each day as a set of 15 minute time periods. The king can come in anyone of them. So ask yourself. Can I wait in this stand for 15 more minutes? If you say yes, then you can have great success using the D.I.E. Scrape System.
