Private Lesson Consulting Rates

To Make A Reservation for a Private Lesson, you must:

  1. Call Bob Mercier to discuss your needs, the training, the terms, the price and the payment.
  2. Agree to sign and have all attendees agree to sign, a Hold-Harmless Liability Agreement. It is part of our contract for hire between Deer Behavior Specialists LLC and all adult attendees. If you have youths in attendance their parents or guardians must sign the contract which holds DBS and Bob J Mercier harmless for any and all liability.
  3. Choose the LOCATION of the Private Lesson Training
  4. Choose a DATE for the job.
  5. Choose a START & STOP TIME.
  6. Choose an ALTERNATE DATE in case of Severe Weather on our scheduled date.
  7. Choose whether you will be scouting and doing a mock-D.I.E. Scrape Set-Up or a Real D.I.E. Scrape Set-Up.
  8. Choose if you will be scent-free and dressed in full camouflage – and wish to be invisible to deer while we scout, or not.
  9. Choose how many parcels of land you want Bob Mercier to scout with you, and allocate hours of training on each parcel ahead of time.
  10. Choose how we will get from one place to another. Walking, or are you providing ATVs or other off – road transportation.
  11. We offer you a 30-minute Free Consultation to be used when contemplating whether to hire us, and how we may best serve your needs.
  12. Bob will offer suggestions and with your input an offer will be drafted in writing and conveyed to you via email, text, or US Mail.
  13. You will have up to 5 business days to agree to terms. We will not hold any dates without a minimum deposit of $500 and a signed contract in our hands at time of reservation. All money paid to us is non-refundable. You will have time to review our contract which has all the contract terms, prior to signing it.
  14. When you know you want the PRIVATE LESSON you call us at 1 (800) 280-5208 and speak to Bob.
  15. We will make it easy for you to make a downpayment, at that time, to reserve the date. You can choose to pay by check or credit card.
  16. The remaining balance is due in full prior to 10 days before the job date or sooner depending on your contract terms.
  17. If paying in full in advance whether by check or credit card one extra hour of training will be added to your job at no charge to you.
  18. If needing a payment plan, we offer 3 or 4 equal monthly payment plans. If choosing a payment plan we charge 15% more as a service charge for extending the payment terms.
  19. All money paid to Deer Behavior Specialists LLC in advance or at the time of Bob J Mercier consulting you, is non-refundable for any reason. We have a no-refund policy. You pay to take time off Bob’s schedule. We accommodate the terms of all contracts and hold our clients to all of the terms. Please be sure you want to learn from us, before putting money down. Bob J Mercier has studied Whitetail deer behavior since 1991. He’s been teaching his dominant buck hunting tactics across the country since 2010.

DBS was formed in an effort to teach every fact that Bob Mercier has learned from observing Whitetail deer and studying deer behavior. Use our D.I.E. System to get close to dominant bucks at your stand sites. Use our walk-like-a-deer method to be able to walk within 35-yards of deer in daylight.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do customers dress for private lessons?

It is up to the customer. If deer season is on, then DBS recommends you are scent-free and dressed in camouflage from head to toe, including a mask and gloves. We go where deer go, and you do not want to get busted.

Spring, Summer, Winter, and Fall, where the weather permits, and temperatures are between 20 degrees and 75 degrees. Exceptions can be made upon request.

WI, IL, MN, MI, OH, IA, IN, KY, MS, MO, PA, AL, AR, TN, TX, OK, NE, and others if we are asked to go there. Check our Calendar to see when we will be in your state. Call us to discuss any questions you may have about private lessons. We are here to help you.

We can scout 10 to 60 acres in an 8 hour day, depending on how much detail our customers want us to teach them.

No, as long as you have gotten written permission from the land owners to allow us to walk their land with you. We require that you either own, rent, or lease the land, and that you can prove it to us if we request proof. We will not trespass or go where guiding is not legal.

After a private lesson, can I call you for pointers or to ask questions?

Yes you may call us, but respectfully we will have to assign a fee to the time that you need to discuss your questions. We are not obligated to providing free advice after a private lesson.

No, but we highly recommend that you understand the way deer herds operate, so you can make sense of the actions of the bucks and other deer you are sure to encounter while hunting with the Dominance Is Everything™ Deer Hunting System. Owning and reading the book is recommended but not required.

Yes. If you have only one hour to hunt, you should set up a D.I.E. Scrape. The first deer to see it, if not the king reports it to the king, and he starts hunting you immediately after that.

Eight Minutes. That is all it takes some people to harvest the king of the herd. We advise our clients to think about each day as a set of 15 minute time periods. The king can come in anyone of them. So ask yourself. Can I wait in this stand for 15 more minutes? If you say yes, then you can have great success using the D.I.E. Scrape System.
